Building Margus

Notes on turning line shopping into a broader market intelligence product.

Margus started with a simple premise: sportsbook prices are fragmented, and the useful part is not merely seeing every number. It is understanding what changed, where the best price is, and how the market got there.

What I am building

The current product watches sportsbook markets, normalizes prices across books, and keeps historical line data instead of treating every refresh as disposable. That makes basic line shopping more useful, but it also creates the foundation for a much larger market history product.

The part I care about most is making the information calm enough to scan. A market tool can have a lot of data without looking like a cockpit.

Current priorities

  • reliable collection and market identity
  • useful price-versus-field context
  • line history that tells a story instead of drawing a decorative chart
  • player props with the same quality bar as game lines
  • a product that earns complexity slowly

This is a starter entry for the new site, not a polished launch essay. I expect the Margus log here to become much more detailed as the product changes.
